It started on a Tuesday morning. Our operations manager leaned into my office doorway and said, "We need to stop sending nameplates out. It's too slow and it's too expensive."

I still ask myself what does a laser engraver do every time I look at a new piece of equipment. The machine marks metal, acrylic, and a hundred other materials. But what it actually produces is trust. And you can't put trust in rush shipping.
